Have you ever started something and stopped in the process? Every experiment is a quest to answer a question or a hypothesis. This year, there seem to be more calamities around us as we are fighting our way out from the pandemic effects. Many people are dealing with one or more than one type of loss such as ;
the loss of family members,
their livelihood,
their sense of peace
their sense of comfort etc.
We are left with spiritual, financial, and emotional trauma, a sense of helplessness and disbelief due to the uncertainty word that is often used in describing the future.
What is the purpose of this fasting experiment?
The purpose of this fasting experiment to find out if;
- Can fasting change your life?
- Can fasting help you get closer to God, nourish your soul, and finding guidance and hope.
How to do it?
Let go of everything that you think you know about God, faith, or spirituality.
Open your heart, mind and soul to guidance and learning.
Before fasting, declare your intention to fast. Example.” I intend to fast in the month of Ramadan/ today for guidance. God, please accept my fast and show me the way that leads to you.”
Who is God?
With this experiment, here are the attributes of the God you are searching for.
“In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
1. Say, “He is God, the One.
2. God, the Absolute.
3. He begets not, nor was He begotten.
4. And there is none comparable to Him.” (Surah 112)
What If I can’t fast all day?
It might be difficult at the beginning, try to abstain from drinking and eating for as long as you can. You have thirty days to work with. God willing you will make it, Don’t get discourage if you can’t. Just make sure that your intention is clear and clean and let God do the rest,
There are many types of fasting and each type serves a purpose. If you are considering fasting, you should consult with your doctor before starting.
